The Bluetones To Call It A Day

The band will split following their September tour...

It is with great sadness that Xfm conveys the news that is is the end of an era - those comfy-listening-sort-of-Britpop-indie-stalwarts have decided the time has come to call it a day.

In a statement on their myspace The Bluetones broke the news to their ever-loyal fanbase, saying:

"We're afraid the time has come and we must say farewell. After 17 years of touring and 6 studio albums, The Bluetones have decided that this Autumn's tour will be our last. We will be playing a career spanning set of songs as a way to say thank you to our loyal supporters and hopefully signing off with a bit of a bang.

We hope we'll see you all in September."

Tickets for the farewell tour go on sale April 1 and will be available via the Xfm Ticket Shop.

let the "feeling blue" puns commence.
