Spiritualized Cancel Dates

added 01 August 2011 at 16.11

The band have called off appearances in Sicily and at Standon Calling Festival for medical reasons...

The two performances have been called off on medical advice as lead singer J. Spaceman is undergoing a course of medical treatment (it's been kept vague what it is for), which we are told is near completion.

It's the first time in twenty one years Spiritualized have called off gigs.

The band have apologised to their fans, saying they "hope they realise that cancellation was the only unavoidable option given the medical circumstances."

But there have been reassurances that this is not a long term issue and their UK tour - set for October -  will not be affected.

A new album is due out in early 2012.

The band's upcoming tour dates are:

October 2011

Sunday 9th - Edinburgh, Queen’s Hall

Monday 10th - Leamington Spa, Assembly Hall

Tuesday 11th - London, Royal Albert Hall

February 2012

Thursday 23rd - Dublin, Vicar Street

Friday 24th - Manchester, Academy

Saturday 25th - Bristol, Academy
