PJ Harvey "Favourite" To Win Barclaycard Mercury Prize

Will it be a second win for Peej this year?

The Barclaycard Mercury Prize is to be announced later tonight (September 6) and bookmakers William Hill have PJ Harvey as the favourite. The singer-songwriter is currently enjoying odds of 6/4 for her album Let England Shake and if she triumphs, it'll mean she's the first artist to win the prize twice.

Harvey first bagged the coveted industry gong back in 2001, with her album Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea. Keep an ear out for the announcement of the winner on tonight's Music:Response with Mary Anne Hobbs from 8pm and Steve Harris will play the winning album in full when he sits in on X-Posure from 11.
