Morrissey: KFC and McDonalds "Worse" Than Norway Killings

added 28 July 2011 at 11.22

The Smiths man made the statement live at a show in Warsaw on Sunday night...

According to one fan who was at the show - mhicks speaking on the morrisey-solo fan forum - he made the comment mid show on Sunday (July 24).

"We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Oslo have shown, but worse things happen in the likes of McDonalds and KFC," mhicks quoted the vehemently vegetarian singer as saying.

But he defended the be-quiffed one's comments adding, "Seems bad written down but I don't think he meant to belittle the events in Norway, it was just a link into Meat is Murder, which was played next.

"Didn't seem to go down badly with the crowd, maybe it went unnoticed?"

However commenting anonymously another fan was not so forgiving. "He´s a sick person, comparing it to what happened in Norway. A very sick person. I´m done with him."

76 people died in Norway over the weekend following a bomb explosion in Oslo and the mass shooting at a youth camp by Anders Breivik.

A Moz spokesman told the Mirror: "Morrissey has decided not to comment any further as he believes his statement speaks for itself."
