Moby Confesses to Being an Anglophile
The "God-father of techno" has been telling Xfm about his love of all things British...
The video for the DJ and Producer's new single Lie Down In Darkness is a sweeping visual of London's landmarks.
"When I was growing up I was such an anglophile - I was obsessed with British music and British TV and British cinema and British... everything," he confessed to Xfm's Sunta.
"What I wanted to show in the video is the side of London that I am really interested in, which is that post war architecture. The architecture that most people would rather not look at. It's kind of dark and concrete based and that sort of placeless sense of the modern."
Moby closed the month long iTunes Festival in the capital last week and told us he "had a wonderful time" being inside a hot and sweaty venue after a summer of festivals.
The show took place at the Roundhouse - which he was quick to sing the praises of.
"If I were a punter it would probably be my favourite venue in London in which to see bands. Playing there it's like the best of both worlds because the stage is quite big and there's quite a lot of production but its not very big so you don't feel like any of the audience is too far away."
Lie Down In Darkness is out August 15.
Moby is joining Sunta on the Weekender With this Sunday night (August 7) from 6pm picking some of his favourite tunes on Xfm - see you then!
