MGMT Hit By Shoe Shower

The band get more than they bargained for at US festival...
MGMT discovered the unpredictable power of the crowd the other day when they found themselves being pelted by shoes at an American festival. Well, they asked for it... literally.
Performing at the US Open Of Surfing festival at Huntington Beach, California, guitarist James Richardson addressed the crowd and told them: "Everybody give me your left shoe, right now."
To his suprise - and alarm - a good proportion of the crowd started to hurl shoes at the stage. "That was probably a bad idea," said Richardson. "Holy shit!"
"Good idea, James," his bandmate Andrew VanWyngarden said ruefully. The band's set went off without further incident. See the video below.
