The stars come out to help tidy up the Capital...

Kaiser Chiefs and Kate Nash are just two of the artists that have come out to help London clear up after last night's disturbances.

Following the trouble which flared up across the Capital last night (August 8), a number of volunteer initiatives have flourished, arriving at some of the locations that were damaged and offering to clean up, including the Twitter account @Riotcleanup.

Ricky Wilson of Kaiser Chiefs tweeted earlier "Camden Chalk Farm. Me and @curlywand (bassist Simon Rix) will there in a bit with our brooms. Get to one near you today if you're about."

The pair then moved onto Clapham Junction, where another clean up was in process: "In a 'Handy Mob' on the train. We're all armed with brooms. Least threatening mob ever. One girl has a jay cloth.

"Can't really do that much. It's all still crime scene at the mo. Seen Matt Baker from Blue Peter though. Result."

Also in the Clapham crowd was Kate Nash, who earlier tweeted: ""Heading to Clapham now. Everyone meeting there at 1.00. Got my bin bags, need to find gloves."

She later added, "Just announced, '[There's a ] bigger crowd here to help clean up than were out last night rioting' Yay London! X"
