Julian Casablancas brought on the be-spectacled one to perform a cover of The Cars' Just What I Needed during The Strokes Saturday night headlining slot at Reading.
The latest Britpop reunitees had performed just before the band on the main stage that night.
The Strokes performed for 70 minutes - ending with Take It or Leave It despite rapturous applause and demands from the crowd to the continue.
Frontman Casablancas admitted he was flattered by their enthusiasm.
