Happy Mondays Reunion Talks Underway

Shaun Ryder's told Xfm The Happy Mondays COULD reunite with their original line-up next year....

Speaking to Xfm's Gordon Smart the frontman confirmed that talks are happening.

"Well I mean there's a lot of interest in it, as you know. I'm looking at it, my manager Warren's looking at it. I've spoke to a few of the lads - I'm not going to say who - there's a few of them up for it. Once the offers come in, we've looked through the offers, we'll speak to the rest of them and see how it goes."

If it does happen it will be the third time they've reunited but the first with the full original line-up.

It comes not long after their Madchester contemporaries The Stone Roses returned to the scene with great success.

The band announced their reunion - aka the worst kept indie secret of this year - at a press conference in central London earlier this year.

Initially only announcing two dates at Manchester's Heaton Park - and a third on the day - the tickets sold out in minutes.

The band have also hinted at world tour plans and have been confirmed for a number of international festivals, including Benicassim, which Xfm is the official radio partner of.
