Graham Coxon: Paloma Faith "Loves To Embarrass Boys"

added 13 April 2011 at 13.00

The Blur guitarist has been telling Xfm about his new collaboration with the "sassy" songstress....

Bashful at the best of times Graham Coxon told Xfm he had to endure a lot of blushes when working with the 'New York' singer.

"She's really lovely but she likes to say those things that make men collapse in embarrassment," he told Xfm's Steve Harris on The O2 Evening Show.

The track - called 'Desire' - also features former Coral guitarist Bill Rider Jones.

It has been commissioned by shoe maker Converse - who also recently saved iconic venue The 100 Club by coming in as sponsor earlier this year.

Coxon, being his usual modest self, told Xfm he had no problem letting Paloma take over on the vocal front.

"I've got quite a few songs where, a lot people will agree with me, my vocal wasn't quite hitting the mark," he said, adding, "I like the idea of women giving it their take. Especially someone like Paloma who can really improvise and put her own stamp on things and do all the sassy stuff."

You can download 'Desire' via the Converse website.
