Graham Coxon on Blur Reunion: "Nothing is Planned"

added 05 April 2011 at 06.00

The guitarist has denied the rumours of new Blur material in 2011...

Coxon does speak to his old bandmates though. "We chat every now and again", he told Xfm backstage at the Japan Disaster Benefit at O2 Academy Brixton.

But there is good news for fans of the bespectacled one - he confirmed to us that he'll be touring and releasing a new album this year.

He also has several festival appearances planned - including Truck Festival and Hop Farm.

Also on the bill for the Japan Disaster Benefit was Paul Weller - who convinced Coxon to play - Primal Scream, Richard Ashcroft, Kelly Jones, The Coral and Beady Eye.

The charity show was organised by former Britpop rival Liam Gallagher - but Graham says although he likes Liam they're not quite best friends these days.

"He's got that weird wit about him - makes me want to run away to the loo," he told us.

See the video of the interview with Graham here.

You can still donate to the British Red Cross's appeal to help the victims of the disaster in Japan here.
