David Bowie's Space Oddity Becomes Children's Book

A Canadian illustrator "reimagines" the classic 1969 single...
David Bowie's classic 1969 single Space Oddity has been turned into a children's book. Canadian illustrator Andrew Korb has created a pictorial version of the song, which details the tribulations of astronuat Major Tom and his ill-fated trip to the moon.
"Have you ever listened to a song and your mind's eye is immediately filled with visuals?" Korb says on his website, www.kolbisneat.com. "David Bowie's classic space epic is one such song for me. Every lyric paints such a vivid picture that I figured Oh hey, I guess I'll make that into a children's book!"

Although the book is currently only available as a PDF at the moment, Korb hopes to attract the interest of a publisher. Xfm worries that the ambigious ending to the tale may not be the best bedtime reading for a toddler, and as far as the accusations that the song is in fact about drug taking... well, let's not even get into that.
