David Bowie Denies Heroes Musical Happening

His people have rubbished reports over the weekend he'd agreed for his music to be used in the project...
So it looks like David Bowie won't be folloing in the footsteps of ABBA and Queen by allowing his tracks to be used in a musical.
It had been widely reported that Heroes: The Musical had been given the go ahead after Deep Singh, who has written the production, told the Observer they "could not really believe it when they gave us permission," going on to say that his people had said it would be unlikely the musical icon would approve the use of his songs.
Seems he was right to think so as today his people have denied that the musical is being allowed to use the tracks - which would have included The Man Who Sold the World, Let's Dance and, of course, Heroes.
The charity show would have taken place at the O2 next year.
An official statement has been released which reads:
"Neither the David Bowie Organization, nor its co-publishers EMI Music and Chrysalis, has issued a license for this performance at the O2. There are no negotiations pending for a long running musical featuring the music of Mr. Bowie."
