Arctic Monkeys New Year's Eve Gaffe

The band failed to do the countdown to midnight after someone forgot to tell them about it...

According to MusicFeeds.com Arctic Monkeys played the show in Australia on December 31 but, despite being the last act to play in 2011, came off stage two minutes before the big moment.

The band were meant to do the countdown to midnight but the message hadn't been passed on.

"Sorry we thought someone else had organised a countdown - let's do one now then shall we?" frontman Alex Turner reportedly apologised as he returned to the stage at 12.01am.

Aparently no one seemed to bothered and the party carried on - with help from Crystal Castles.
