Amy Winehouse Dress Sells for £40,000

The outfit the late singer wore on the cover of the Back to Black album has fetched more than twice its estimate...
A dress worn by Amy Winehouse on the cover of her album Back to Black has sold for more than forty thousand pounds.
The sum - more than twice its estimate - was paid by a South American fashion museum.
The proceeds of the polka dot dress are going to the foundation set up by Amy's family in her memory.
It was sold alongside items worn by Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Princess Diana.
Speaking ahead of the sale, auction house owner Kerry Taylor, said the Winehouse legacy is by no means overshadowed.
"You know we have these ladies: we have the beautiful, serene Audrey Hepburn, the fabulous Elizabeth Taylor, the beautiful and kind Diana," she said.
"And we have this young, raw talent, Amy Winehouse, who left us too soon. And it's quite poignant seeing her sweet little dress next to some of these very glamorous numbers.
"I think with all of these women, they were troubled women. You know they were sometimes unhappy in love, quite often happy in love most of them, and I think for Amy it's especially sad because I think it was about to come right for her and she never got that chance."
