XX to Take Time Over New Album

added 29 September 2010 at 17.26

The band have told Xfm they are in no hurry to follow up their award winning debut...

The Barclaycard Mercury Prize winners were on X-Posure with John Kennedy last night.

Romy Madley Croft told John it could be a while before fans hear anything new, "we don't want to rush anything. Same thing with this album we took our time. We were lucky enough to be given the time and there was no pressure for that but we are perfectionists and we want to get it right."

It is not a deliberate break for the band though, "I don't know it will take five years but I think we just need to have some time back in London, getting back to normality and writing again separate from each other to be creative together."

They also gave us a world exclusive first play of a new solo track by Jamie from the band called 'Far Nearer'.
