The former Pink Floyd bassist tells us about The Wall, a possible reformation and much, much more.

Following the news that Roger Waters would tour The Wall for the first time in twenty years, we tracked him down to get his thoughts on the mammoth jaunt, the album and the current state of Pink Floyd. Needless to say, it’s an incredible interview.

Has the advent of social media rendered the themes of The Wall slightly redundant?

What are your memories of taking The Wall on the road all that time ago?

“There were very few shows…”

Is it a difficult album to perform emotionally?

“Not really, the emotions that drove the music…”

“Everything I’ve ever written is very emotional…”

Has your attitude to large gigs changed since writing The Wall?

“Back then, I was so fearful…”

How long can you see yourself touring?

“I can’t imagine, aged 80, I’ll want to do 55-date tours…”

What was Bob Geldof’s role in the reformation of Pink Floyd?

“I always liked Geldof…”

Could there be a Pink Floyd reunion?

“I don’t know…”

Are you any closer to finishing the opera for The Wall?

“Funnily enough, I’ve just re-written Act 1”

Will there be a film of the original Wall tour?

“Before I started preparations for this tour…”
