Thom Yorke Predicts Music Industry’s Collapse

added 09 June 2010 at 11.02

It’s only a few months away, apparently…

Thom Yorke has told new book ‘The Rax Active Citizen Toolkit’ that he believes the death of the music industry is on the verge of collapse. The Radiohead frontman was being interviewed for the book, which aims to politicise young people.

"[It's] only a matter of time," said Yorke. "Months rather than years before the music business establishment completely folds."

Yorke, who famously swerved the industry with Radiohead’s release of ‘In Rainbows’ and its soliciting of contributions via an ‘honesty box’, urged young musicians to dodge major labels, whom he described as a “sinking ship".
