The Edge Posts U2 Update

The band will reschedule shows and aim to play new songs when the tour resumes.
U2 guitarist The Edge has posted a video message on the band’s website giving an update on singer Bono’s condition and the band’s plans following his rehabilitation. Speaking via Skype (see the full video below), he joked,
“I spoke to Bono a few hours after he’d the operation… He didn’t remember the conversation, which is a shame, because he promised me his car and some paintings”.
On the singer’s realisation that he’d sustained an injury, he continued,
“He did realise, I think when he could no longer walk, that he needed to go to the doctor. By the time they got to see him and did some scans they realised he’d actually got some fairly major damage. Had he not have done anything about it, it could have been very serious and possibly permanent”.
“I’m already back in work on songwriting and working on stuff for the new U2 record. We are intending to play some of the new songs live, which is something we’ve always planned to do but never got round to doing”.
