Subways Ask Fans to Pledge to Charity for New Record

The band are in the studio with Stephen Street (Blur/The Smiths/Kaiser Chiefs)...

In a post on their website the trio are asking their fans to give money to two charities as they follow the making of the next record.

They broke the news in a post on their website:

"Greetings all!

We have now started work on our new album which we are planning to release in 2011. We’re really excited about the new songs and have just gone into the studio with the producer Stephen Street (Blur/The Smiths/Kaiser Chiefs/Graham Coxon).

We recently came across PledgeMusic and realised that this is the perfect way to give you lot – our amazing fans – an opportunity to follow the making of the album from day one of recording, through to its release, while making a pile of money for charity in the process!

The idea is simple. Check the list, see what you like, make a pledge and get a great Subways item or experience you won’t find anywhere else!"

Everyone who pledges also gets a free download of the album when it comes out.

The cash is going to Clic Sargent -  which supports children and young people with Cancer and their families - and The National Autistic Society.
