They join The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and Primal Scream in Spain...

The band have been announced as the next big event for FIB - more commonly known as Benicassim.

The festival is happening July 14 - 17 on the Spanish coast and tickets are on sale now.

Since last December - when they released track 'Chase the Tear' for Amnesty International - things have been quiet on the Portishead front but it appears fans can expect to see more of the band in 2011.

As well as Benicassim they have confirmed they will play in Europe in June/July and the US during September/October - with the details to be confirmed on their website soon.

Portishead have also been confirmed as curators for a special All Tomorrow's Parties event in London next summer - headlining both days of the event at Alexandra Palace in July.

Tickets for ATP go on sale Friday (November 26) at 9am.
