Pearl Jam Halt Festival Set

The crowd’s safety prompts the grunge band to stop a headline performance.

Pearl Jam had to halt their appearance at Poland’s Heineken Open-er Festival last night after fearing for the crowd’s safety. It’s reported that a few fans were getting crushed at the front, which lead singer Eddie Vedder to temporarily stop the band’s set.

The news comes ten years after the Roskilde Festival tragedy where, during Pearl Jam’s set, nine fans were trampled under foot and suffocated following a crowd surge.
