New Kings Of Leon Single - What Do You Think?

So at midday today (Wednesday September 8), Xfm gave the very first play to the brand new Kings Of Leon single. Called 'Radioactive', it opens with a storming riff and showcases the more spiritual side of the band - in fact, Jared Followill recently explained, "Caleb went back to an old spiritual song that we had all sung growing up. It does have a kind of spiritual feel for sure, it is kind of where we came from."

6. I was promised that the new Kings Of Leon album would be a return to their roots. This single, while still clinging on to some elements of Only by The Night, has pleased me greatly. My favourite album is probably Youth & Young Manhood and this, although not "raw" enough to be on par with the first two albums, is certainly a brilliant song. I just hope, as I'm sure many other 'old skool' Kings Of Leon fans will, that this new album DOESN'T get as much airplay as the last, as this, I believe, was a contributing factor (among other things) in Only By The Night becoming more of a pop album than a rock album. Just my opinion. Great song.

10. I was really into the Kings of Leon from their earliest beginning. Their raw sound and edgy feel to their songs really set them apart.
    
    Their first two albums were fantastic and rightly so provided the recognition they deserved.
    
    And that's when they began to believe the hype, and overnight turned to slush. I mean what the f**k was "Sex on Fire"? other than a record exec's wet dream!
    
    The KOL have quickly forgotten their deep south roots, and have started to churn out garbage for fun.
    
    I think they lost the plot at the same time they shaved off the beards and started buying their clothes from Top Shop.
    
    Sad to say that Coldplay are more rock n roll than KOL nowadays.
    
    This new 'direction' is utter rubbish. As soon as bands start adding tons of reverb to the snare drum, you know that's the beginning of the end.
