Mumford & Sons Collaborate With The Kinks’ Ray Davies

The west London folkies are set to feature on Davies’ new album.
Ben and Ted from Mumford & Sons have been talking about hooking up with Kinks mainman Ray Davies. Speaking with John Kennedy on X-posure last night, the pair revealed they’d spent two days at Konk studios collaborating on an album of Kinks covers featuring guest artists.
“He had mentioned that he’d like to include us”, said Ben. “It was the first time we’d heard about it so we jumped on it and chased it up.
“We spend two days in the studio with Ray Davies. We’re a little bit shell-shocked.
“We did a couple of songs”, said Ted. “We did a medley. We did ‘Days’ and ‘This Time Tomorrow’.”
The pair also revealed that the band have no plans to record a new album in 2010.
“I don’t think we’re going to record a second album this year. We’re playing too many shows”, said Ben.
