M.I.A. Gig Stopped By Lightning

Rapper gives Hard NYC Party organisers a mouthful.
M.I.A. was forced to rap acapella when safety-conscious festival organisers pulled the plug on her performance at the weekend.
The rapper was headlining the Hard NYC Party festival on Governor’s Island, New York, when an electrical storm brought an early halt to the fun.
As her sound and backing tapes were turned off for fear that the lightning could cause an electrocution, MIA refused to leave the stage, rapping unaccompanied for several minutes. Her considered response to the healthy and safety regulations? “Fuck that shit.”
She later laid into the organisers on Twitter: "Money doesn't buy u shit! I thought more money means better sound guys in America/I was wrong, the higher u go, they turn u lower!”
