Mercury Should Be Called “Dizzee Award”

The Bow rapper suggests a name-change following his third nomination.

Dizzee Rascal is confident that he could win the Barclaycard Music Prize again following the nomination of his album ‘Tongue N’ Cheek’. It’s the third time the east London rapper has been nominated for the prize, having won the award in 2003 for ‘Boy In Da Corner’.

“The Dizzee award, that’s what they should call it, why not?,” the hip hop star told The Star.

“I’m going to win it this time. I feel like it’s my time again.”

Dizzee Rascal is the artist that’s had the most success at the Mercury Prize over the years. Despite Radiohead securing four nominations, they’ve never won the prestigious gong.
