Matt Bellamy “I’m A Sh*t Drummer”

added 25 February 2010 at 10.39

The frontman says taking to the drums in Italy wasn’t such a great idea after all.

Matt Bellamy has spilled the beans on one of Xfm’s favourite clips of last year (see below). In it, the band swap instruments to mime ‘Uprising’ on Italian sports show ‘Quelli che il Calcio’. Drummer Dom Howard assumes bass and singing duties as bassist Chris Wolstenholme plays guitar and Bellamy plays drums.

“It’s the one instrument I can’t play”, said Matt to us at the NME Awards. “I’m, so shit on the drums it’s ridiculous.

“I think Dom makes a better frontman and I make a better drummer in terms of the way we look. Obviously when it comes to playing it’s a completely different story”.

Bellamy also revealed that the band were set to take Kasabian as support on some of their huge European dates.
