Libertines To Reform In 2011

Pete and Carl’s separate projects get in the way of any Libertines shows this year, but all seems set for a reunion in 2011.
Carl Barat has been telling two newspapers about the possibility of getting back with Pete Doherty and The Libertines. Despite much speculation that the indie heroes would reunite to play the Reading and Leeds Festivals this year, Carl Barat has said it’s more likely to happen in 2011.
"It's not definite definite”, he told London’s Evening Standard. “But 2011 is where there's room for that to happen. So if everything's all right, then, yeah, it would be glorious to get on the old jacket and venture forth, into the known."
Currently, Barat is planning his first solo album, while Doherty is focussed on the next Babyshambles record.
Unsurprisingly, the prospect of getting back with his former songwriting partner isn’t without its worries for Barat.
"There's too much furore that would surround every little movement", Carl told The Times. "If we're going to do it, I'd rather do it properly and give it 100 per cent, but he's a funny one, that Pete..."
