Kings Of Leon: "Golf Is Not Delaying Our Album"

...but the band admit they will be starting work on new material next week.
Jared Followill has denied tabloid rumours that the band's obsession with golf has delayed work on the next Kings Of Leon album... but that "cosiness" has.
Quizzed by Steve Harris on Xfm's O2 Evening Show tonight (January 14), Followill said emphatically: "I can deny it! I can tell you that I gave up golf probably about two years ago. I figured that if I wanted to throw away money and get pissed off, I'll just go to Vegas. Nathan does play golf, so that's probably where they got it. But it's freezing here right now, so he hasn't played in two or three months.
"If anything's delaying the record, it's the fact that we're really cosy at home. But we're actually starting that next week. We don't even have a studio picked out yet, but we're going to start the writing and getting some of the arrangements together and stuff like that."

Jared has also been bigging up fellow Nashville act The Features, who have been signed to the Kings' new label. "They absolutely floored us," he said of his first experience seeing the band. "Then we started bringing them out on the road. We always thought they were one of the most promising bands in America. Their live show is really off the charts."
Of the Kings' own label, the bassist said that the roster was pretty small: "Right now, we've got a grand total of one [artist], but there are three or four that we're looking at right now."
