Kele Okereke talks to Xfm about his solo album and “doing a Britney”

The O2 Evening Show With Steve Harris recently welcomed Kele Okereke on to the show to talk about his forthcoming solo album, ‘The Boxer’. Among the number of probing questions and areas of debate were his changing hairstyles, to which Kele light-heartedly (we think) replied:

“I was doing a Britney. I’d had enough and I needed to start again… I was having a meltdown. I was attacking photographers with my umbrella and not being so good to myself”.

He also talked about Bloc Party bandmate Russell Lissack’s new role within Ash.

“He was in an Ash tribute band. That’s when I first saw him play guitar. It’s bizarrely come full circle for him.
