Goldfrapp Hails "Up" Album

'Head First' is a nicer record than the others, says Alison...
Alison Goldfrapp has told Xfm that her latest album 'Head First' is a more "up" and "celebratory" album than the band's previous works.
Speaking to Steve Harris last night (March 15), the singer said, "After Seventh Tree, we wanted to get the synths out again and give it a warmer feeling. Supernature was fantastic, but there was a lot of emphasis on the drums, filling every available space, so we wanted to do something that had that kind of feeling, but something that had more warmth, more space.
"['Head First' is] more "up". It's probably the most direct we've wever done, the other albums have been almost ambigious, this more celebratory.
