Download Brought Steven Tyler Back To Aerosmith

Joe Perry admits the lure of Donington prove too much for the wayward singer.
Aerosmith have revealed that the prospect of playing the Download Festival this weekend was enough to bring singer Steven Tyler back into the fold. The singer, who’d been threatening to go solo, reunited with the band’s classic line-up for a massive European tour.
“I guess the enormity of the shows waiting for us changed his mind,” guitarist Joe Perry told newspaper The Star. “He thought ‘Download at Donington and all these massive festivals across the world? I don’t wanna miss out on all of those.’
“We don’t play Europe enough and people talk about Donington all over the world. It’s an honour to be playing that show. All the acts are like headliners and any chance I’m gonna get to play with AC/DC again I’m gonna take.”
The guitarist admitted that the band’s recent shows had signaled a rejuvenation in the camp, and may yet signal the recording of a new album.
“We owe the fans and ourselves a great record. Now that we’re all on the same page, we’ll give ourselves plenty of time and do things the way we used to.”
