Bono "Could Have Run The UK", Says Tony Blair

added 07 September 2010 at 10.12

The former PM's memoirs offer a startling new revelation...

Bono could have run the country if he had wanted to according to former Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Spinner magazine is quoting page 555 of his memoirs where he says the U2 frontman "...Could have been a President or Prime Minister standing on his head. He had an absolutely natural gift for politicking, was great with people, very smart and an inspirational speaker ... motivated by an abundant desire to keep on improving, never really content or relaxed. I knew he would work with George [W. Bush] well, and with none of the prissy disdain of most of his ilk."

Tony Blair's book 'A Journey' has caused controversy since before its release, with protests outside a Dublin book signing and a forthcoming London appearance cancelled.
