The veteran rocker judges a talent show for potential performers...

Alice Cooper - he never lets us down. The veteran shock-rocker was in town (ie, London) yesterday (ie August 9) to judge a talent show for circus performers that will join him at a special Halloween gig.

The musician held court at the London Dungeon to survey the array of freak show inmates with an eye to including them onstage at his Roundhouse shows on October 31 and November 1.

Grisly acts included a handful of people hammering nails up their noses, two people walking across broken glass and a woman in a straitjacket singing the country classic 'Crazy'.

The winners featured a ballet dancer who stuck feathers with pins in her arms and pierced her cheeks with two roses.  "My wife and two daughters do ballet and I'm needle-phobic so that was just amazing," said a chortling Alice. "I can get on stage with the snakes and all that but I could never have a blood test so that was amazing."
