Them Crooked Vultures Make UK Live Debut

The Homme/Grohl/Jones supergroup support Arctic Monkeys in London...
Rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures made their live UK debut in a "surprise" support slot for the Arctic Monkeys at the O2 Academy, Brixton last night (August 26). The band, made up of the Foo Fighter Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones were joined on stage by guitarist Alain Johannes.
The band played a selection of their new material, which included 'Elephants' and 'Gunman', both of which have been posted on the band's MySpace page. Homme spoke of the band's delight at performing by saying "We're a new band, we're going to play a lot of new music tonight. We hope you enjoy it".
Homme, who co-produced the Arctic Monkeys' new album 'Humbug', later told the surprised audience, "If you want to dance, dance. You're supposed to have a good time." As the band left the stage, the clearly-pleased ginger rock god said, "See you at the party afterwards."
Rumours continue to circulate that the band will play the Reading and Leeds festivals this weekend, so keep an eye out.
