The Enemy To Write World Cup Song?

Tom Clarke wants to support England all the way...

The Enemy's Tom Clarke reckons he wants to write and record the official England 2010 World Cup song. The frontman told The Sun, "We'd do it just so we could say, 'We've recorded the official England song'."

He also wants one of the squad to rap on the track, a la John Barnes's star turn on New Order's 1990 offering, 'World In Motion'. "I'd like to get Peter Crouch to rap. We'd let him do his robot dance too. I reckon Wayne Rooney could be an angry rapper.

New Order made number one 19 years ago with their England song, while Embrace made a respectable number three in 2006 with 'World At Your Feet'.
