Stone Roses To Reunite For Summer Tour?

But Xfm's man in the know claims that it's all just a rumour...

It looks like the latest rumours about a Stone Roses reunion tour are made up... The Mirror reckons bassist Mani, drummer Reni and guitarist John Squire have persuaded Ian Brown to join them one more time to mark the 20th anniversary of the release of their self-titled debut album. Reports of 21 dates being played during the summer, along with a surprise appearance at the Coachella Festival in the US.

But Xfm's Head of Music, Mike Walsh, isn't so sure. "I have just heard on good authority from people who are pretty close to the Stone Roses camp that this is not something that's going to happen," says Walsh. "In fact they believe the reunion is further away than it was three years ago when they were trying to make something happen."

Plus, it seems that the former members aren't exactly remaining idle. "Ian Brown's got a brand new solo album coming out sooner than people expect - I think it's going to be with us in a couple of months. And apparently the Squire/Brown relationship is further away than it's ever been from being fixed. We're pretty certain that this is nothing other than rumour."
