Reading And Leeds Confirm Flag Ban

The clampdown is official: no flags allowed!
Reading and Leeds festival bosses have officially confirmed the ban on flags at this year's events.
Festival-goers will have flags confiscated from them at the gates, as they have been considered “a nightmare” by other campers in the past.
Melvin Benn, who runs both festivals, told the BBC: "The people behind them - not immediately behind them, but 20 or 30 rows behind them, can't see. They want to get on TV now, that’s the big thing."
Flags have been a festival tradition for the past couple of decades, but seemed to reach critical mass at this year's Glastonbury, particularly during Bruce Springsteen's headlining set. However, there are rumours that Michael Eavis will follow suit next year.
Another major change this year is the lack of a ticket box office at the event itself, and no ticket collection point, as both events sold out weeks ago.
Arctic Monkeys, Kings Of Leon and Radiohead play the shows, which take place over the Bank Holiday weekend, 28 - 30 August.
