Placebo Promise "Dancers And Circus Performers" For O2 Show

Brian Molko reckons that the band's Christmas gig will be special...
Brian Molko is threatening that Placebo's December show at London's O2 will be something special. Speaking to Xfm before the band played the iTunes Festival at The Roundhouse last night (July 14), the singer claimed that performing in the Capital always made them raise their game.
"[London has] always been a very important place. We always want to shine here," he told Sunta. Sometimes it's harder because your average music fan is exposed to more high quality music than, say, the Czech Republic."
Pressed on whether fans can expect something special from the gig, Molko pondered... "Sometimes in my fantasy world, I'd like to bring fire-eaters and maybe a circus troupe, but that could detract from the music. Sometimes I'd like the band to be the Ike and Tina review, with dancers and music and maybe one day it'd be like that.
"Maybe at the O2, it would be a good opportunity to do that, bring a horn section or a string section in. We'd like to make the evening a special one, because it's a massive statement for us. Particularly as we don't get much support from the media, but our fanbase has been steadily growing. We want to reward the faithful."
Molko also revealed that the next Placebo single will be 'The Never Ending Why', which will be released on September 7. "It's a very spiritual song," he explains. "It's kind of Eastern in its philososphy. It's about the questions that will never be answered. Anyone who has an interest in the meaning of life will come up against a brick wall, but you must accept the fact that there will be no answers and try and get the best out of now."
