Pete Doherty Sings "Nazi Anthem" At Show

The Babyshambles man accidentally gets the German National Anthem wrong...
Pete Doherty has caused a minor uproar in Germany after singing the banned versse of the German national anthem. The Babyshambles singer made an unannounced appearance at the on3 festival in Munich on Sunday (November 29), which was being broadcast live on German radio.
In the middle of a somewhat befuddled performance of Ray Charles's 'Hit The Road Jack', Doherty dropped the D-bomb. "With a quiet voice, he sang 'Deutschland, Deutschland über alles' four times," Rudi Kuffner, a festival spokesman told The Guardian. "Then the audience booed him so loudly that he had to start another song."
Watch the video here (it kicks off at about 2.40 in):
The controversial first verse of "Das Deustschlandlied" was omitted following the Second World War after being associated with the Nazi Party and only the third stanza is used on official occasions.
A spokesman for Doherty told Sky News: "He was unaware of the controversy surrounding the German national anthem and he deeply apologizes if he has caused any offence."
