Pete Doherty Arrested Again
Singer escapes jail, then is nicked as he leaves court...
Pete Doherty has been in another brush with the law, as the troubled singer was arrested on drugs charges... minutes after escaping a jail sentence.
The Babyshambles frontman was up before the beak at Gloucester Crown Court yesterday (December 21) to answer charges of careless and drink driving. The case relates to an incident back in June, when the singer was arrested while "erratically" driving a car through the town centre following a gig.
The singer has already admitted possession of drugs, but managed to get off with a fine of £2,050 and an 18-month driving ban.
However, The Times reports that as Doherty left the court, police spotted an item falling from his pocket and the star was quickly arrested.
A police spokesman said: "A 30-year-old Wiltshire man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a controlled substance. He is currently assisting police with their inquiries."
Meanwhile, Babyshambles are to play a "guerilla gig" at The Dirty South in Lewisham tonight (December 22) and Xfm can exclusively reveal that Doherty WILL be present, despite his police troubles.
