Oasis To Give Fans "A Full Refund"

Noel claims technical problems made Heaton Park a "free show"...
Oasis have offered fans their money back after technical problems halted last night's Heaton Park show twice. The stage at the Manchester venue suffered two separate power cuts during the band's set. Generator problems apparently caused the difficulties during the opening number, 'Fuckin' In The Bushes', and the band left the stage when the second song, 'Rock 'N' Roll Star' was also knobbled.
After the show was disrupted for a full half hour while the generator was fixed, Noel Gallagher told the 70,000-strong crowd, "This is a free gig - let's have it. Anybody who has kept their ticket will get a full refund." The BBC speculates that this could cost the band anything up to £3 million.
Oasis returned to play a full set and wound up well after the 11pm curfew with a cover of 'I Am The Walrus'. The Heaton Park show was troubled from the start - support band The Enemy had to pull out because singer Tom Clarke had food poisoning.
Oasis return to Manchester tomorrow (Saturday June 6), to continue their three night stand at the park.
