Oasis Pull Out Of V Festival
Liam Gallagher's bad throat cancels headline slot.
Oasis have had to cancel their headlining slot at the Chelmsford leg of the V Festival tonight (August 23), because Liam Gallagher is unwell with viral laryngitis.
A spokesman for the band said: "After a year of being on the road, this is the first performance to be lost to a band member's illness, so naturally we are all completely gutted. Liam is resting up and should be fine to resume the tour next Friday in Paris." The band performed at last night's Staffordshire branch of the festival.
Snow Patrol will fill in for the band this evening. They performed a similar function for Blur at T In The Park this year, when the Britpoppers arrived late due to Graham Coxon having to visit hospital.
