Noel Gallagher: Intimidation And Lack Of Support Made Me Leave

The guitarist explains why he's had to "seek pastures new"...
Noel Gallagher has followed up his announcement that he is leaving Oasis with a full statement. Writing on the band's website, he began, "Dearly beloved, it is with a heavy heart and a sad face that I say this to you this morning. As of last Friday, August 28, I have been forced to leave the Manchester rock 'n' roll pop group Oasis.
"The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and bandmates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new."
After apologising for blowing out the Rock En Seine show in Paris last night (August 28) and the V Festival in Chelmsford last weekend, Noel added, "In closing I would like to thank all the Oasis fans, all over the world. The last 18 years have been truly, truly amazing (and I hate that word, but today is the one time I'll deem it appropriate). A dream come true. I take with me glorious memories.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a family and a football team to indulge. I'll see you somewhere down the road. It's been a fuckin' pleasure."
Meanwhile, rumours continue to circulate that Oasis may carry on without the elder Gallagher. A spokeswoman for the band told the BBC, "I expect in the next couple of days a decision will be made as to how to continue or if they continue."
However, Alan McGee - the man who signed the group to Creation back in 1993 - commented that the rift was obviously serious, but that it may all blow over. "I think you'll have a reunion tour in about five years time. They love each other. When people love each other, they'll always make peace."
The band had just two more shows left on their current tour - tonight would have seen them play the Rock Am See festival in Konstanz, Germany and tomorrow (August 30) at the I-Days Festival in Milan, Italy.

I cant believe it! Why would Noel cancel V or that thing in Paris because of that, it doesn't give him a proper send off! :( :(
