Noah And The Whale: 'It's A Cathartic Album'

Charlie Fink explains that 'The First Day Of Spring' has a positive message...
The new Noah And The Whale album 'The First Day Of Spring' may on first listen be a bit of a gloomathon, what with the single 'Blue Skies' kicking off with the line "This is a song for anyone with a broken heart", but frontman Charlie Fink claims that it's actually a positive record.
"It's indulgent, but uplifting," he told Xfm's Jon Hillcock. "I feel like sometimes people need to indulge their sadnesses as well as getting past them."
"I agree that it's an essential thing in all art - music, film... the beauty and the sadness. There are definitely highs and lows. [But the album] ends in a good place, it's a cathartic story."
