New Title Is ‘Mental’ Say Kasabian

Tom Meighan reveals the inspiration behind naming their new album ‘The West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’.
Tom Meighan has spoken to Xfm about naming their fourth album ‘The West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’. The Kasabian frontman was talking to Xfm’s Steve Harris last night.
“[The West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum] was a mental place just outside Wakefield in the 18th Century. I saw it on a documentary a while ago.
“I just liked the idea of the title. It rolls off your tongue and it’s really mental. We called our second album ‘Empire’, so we had to really twist this one. It’s great. It’s a lunatic title, like something out of the 60s”.
You can hear the full interview and new song ‘Vlad The Impaler’ right now.
As previously reported, the band have announced a full UK tour for the Summer.
