Lovebox Weekender Line-Up Announced
N.E.R.D. and Duran Duran are in the frame, with back up from Friendly Fires and Florence...
The headliners for this year's Lovebox Weekender have been announced. The two day event, which takes place at London's Victoria Park over the weekend of July 18 and 19, will see N.E.R.D. and Duran Duran take the closing slots, alonside festy organisers Groove Armada.
Also appearing on the Saturday will be the Brit-Award winning Florence And The Machine, Friendly Fires and Fat Freddy's Drop, while Sunday sees a set from the always-excellent Simian Mobile Disco.
In addition, the festival has expanded for 2009 with an even bigger 40 acre site that will once again be showcaing new acts, performers, stage sets and special effects from all over the world. This year also sees the debut of Container Arcadia - this year's principal soundsystem. Described as "an eerie labyrinth of sky-high shipping containers [which] promises to create a monolithic, fire-breathing dockyard featuring DJs and electronic music acts", including the mighty Horse Meat Disco and Secretsundaze.
