La Roux: "I Hate YouTube"
Although over 80,000 people have watched her video on YouTube, La Roux is not a fan of the website and in particular the angry mob who get into comment debates when really they should just 'get a life'. Right on La Roux!
She's another hot tip for 2009 and Xfm's Steve Harris was lucky enough to get Elly 'La Roux' Jackson on the phone to chat about future plans for the year.
The lucky lady is getting ready for her next single and a massive tour with Lily Allen:
"We're rehearsing at the minute, going through things and getting ready for the tour...Lily knows some people I work with and said she was into the tunes and stuff. Then she asked my management if I would like to support her on tour!"
As if that wasn't exciting enough, Steve Harris informed La Roux that her pineapple-tastic video for single 'Quicksand' has had over 80,000 hits on YouTube. Although impressed with the numbers, La Roux seems a little wary of the video site:
"Shit! I never go on YouTube 'cos there's just loads of people on there that like write loads of stuff and get really involved in the conversations. People get really het up and spend hours on there having arguments and I went on there once and started reading it and was like I'm not getting involved in this because it's nerd central! People are having proper debates about stuff that just doens't matter. If you don't like it, don't buy it, don't listen to it. Stop going on and on about it, get a life."
