La Roux Admits '80s Influences

The electro-pop diva finally 'fesses up to the themes behind the new album...

Flame-haired electro popstress La Roux celebrated going to Number One in the singles chart at Glastonbury over the weekend - and her self-titled debut album is out this week.

Speaking to Xfm last week, Ellie Jackson admitted that there was a definite '80s vibe to the record.

"I think it'd be quite weird if I said, 'Really, do you think it sounds '80s, that's a bit mad isn't it? I thought it was jazz-funk. Yeah, of course it is. But hopefully with a modern tinge."

La Roux's self-titled album is out now.
