Just Jack: ‘Elton John Saved My Video’

The indie-hop genre masher tells Steve Harris that Sir Elton had to step in to save the video for his new single ‘The Day I Died’.

Just Jack has been telling Steve Harris on the Xfm Evening Show With O2 that Sir Elton John was involved with the video to new single ‘The Day I Died’. Jack said that they’d been struggling to find an actor for the bitter sweet video. And then Elton stepped in…

“My girlfriend suggested we get in touch with him and ask if [Elton] would help me out”, said Jack. “He phoned up Jimmy Nesbitt who said he’d do it. The rest is history”.

It turns out the grand dame of pop had been a fan of Jack’s for quite some time.

“Yeah, he’s been a fan since the first album. He got given a copy of the first album that not a lot of people knew about and became a big fan of it. He mentioned it to a few people and it finally got back to me”.
